GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Many West Michigan communities saw snow accumulate on grassy areas Monday night.
Some areas mainly north of Kent County, in parts such as northeast Muskegon and Newaygo counties, had 1 inch or less of accumulation, according to Storm Team 8.

The ground is warm, allowing most of the snow to melt on-contact on paved roads.
For many, the lake-effect snowfall was the first measurable wintry precipitation of the fall.
Skies are partly cloudy Tuesday with highs in the upper 30s, and some more flurries flying around in some areas.
Temperatures will gradually increase and reach the low 50s by the weekend.
