GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A man who pleaded guilty to burning several American flags in Ottawa County has admitted guilt in a separate arson case.
William Howerton pleaded guilty Monday to setting fire to a sign in the Yankee Candle store at Kent County's RiverTown Crossings Mall in March.
He will be sentenced in late November.
In August, Howerton pleaded guilty to burning flags in Ottawa County. In July, police said Howerton blazed a trail through Hudsonville and Jenison, setting fire to at least eight flags along the way.
For that incident, he was ordered to pay almost $4,000 in fines.
