Fire takes out Byron Township home

BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A mid-afternoon fire destroyed a Byron Township home as firefighters struggled to douse the flames.

The fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of 92nd SW. Firefighters arrived quickly, but the tanker trucks arrived a few minutes later.

The home was empty at the time. No cause of the fire is known at this time.
