Emma, Liam top GR baby names in 2012

Liam was #19 in 2011; Emma #1 in 2009-10

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - There were 7,161 babies born at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in 2012, and the most popular names of the year are Emma and Liam.

In a release from hospital officials Thursday morning, the top 10 names for both boys and girls were revealed. There were more babies born at the Family Birth Place at Butterworth than any other hospital in Michigan.

Liam made a jump from #19 in 2011 to the top spot this year, while Emma was the #1 name in 2009 and 2010.
