ALTO, Mich. (WOOD) - An Alto day care has shut down because the owner of the business owes the IRS over $200,000 in back taxes.
24 Hour News 8 spoke with Julie Saladino, the owner of Kids World day care and Learning Center in Alto. She said she closed the business because of a tax lien. Her business dropped when the economy went into a recession and she couldn't keep up with her tax payments.
Because of the lien, all of the money coming in to the business was going to pay off the IRS.
Saladino said she owes $206,000 to the IRS.
The business looked after 40 kids before they closed.
