SAND LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A good Samaritan is being credited with rescuing the driver from a vehicle that caught on fire after a crash.

Kent County sheriff's deputies responded at 3 a.m. Saturday to the crash on 22 Mile Road near Ritchie Avenue NE in Sand Lake Township.

A Dodge Caravan was traveling north when its driver did not stop at the intersection, according to a news release.

The vehicle went off the road, crashed into a tree and caught on fire, police said.

A good Samaritan removed the driver out of the vehicle and prevented the driver from suffering any injuries.

No other information has been released.
