BYRON CENTER, Mich. (WOOD) - One of two teenage girls was injured when their SUV collided with a pickup truck on a snowy, slippery road in Kent County.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on 84th Street east of Burlingame Avenue SW in Byron Center.
The 18-year-old driver of the SUV said she thought she saw someone driving out of a driveway in front of her, so she swerved. Her vehicle then struck a pickup truck hauling some wood products.
The teen driver was OK. Her passenger suffered a broken arm and some other minor injuries, and was transported to a hospital. They were en route to class at Byron Center High School, police at the scene told 24 Hour News 8.
The truck driver was not injured.
