GR man airlifted after I-96 crash

Eastbound I-96 shut down for a time

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (WOOD) - One person, a 40-year-old Grand Rapids man, was airlifted after a crash on I-96 shut down the eastbound lanes for a time early Saturday evening.

The lanes were closed to allow the helicopter to land about one mile west of the Alden Nash overpass, north of Alto.

Only one vehicle was involved in the accident. The man's name and condition have not been released.

The lanes re-opened after about an hour.
