ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A man from Sparta hit by a vehicle while on his bicycle has died four months after the crash.
Kenneth Ring, 38, passed away in home hospice care on Wednesday, a family member confirmed to 24 Hour News 8
Ring and another professional bicyclist were riding near the intersection of 13 Mile Road and Algoma Avenue NE in Algoma Township on the evening of April 2 when the crash happened.
The 26-year-old driver of the vehicle was traveling into the sunset and never saw the riders, police said.
Ring was hit from behind and went through the air over the other cyclist, 24 Hour News 8 was told.
The driver called 911 and Ring was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Kent County Prosecutor William Forsyth told 24 Hour News 8 on Thursday that his office will take another look at this case to see if criminal charges are warranted.
