WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) - Police in Kent County are searching for a man who wore a recognizable hat while allegedly robbing a bank Tuesday morning.
Officers from the Wyoming Police Department were dispatched around 9:30 a.m. to the Fifth Third Bank branch, 1031 Chicago Dr. SW.
Witnesses said the suspect walked into the bank and threw a gray and black bag or backpack at a teller. He then demanded money while pointing a shotgun in the direction of the teller, according to a news release.
The suspect was given some cash and then ran westbound from the scene, police said.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slim build, thin face and big eyes. He was wearing a black and red Chicago Bulls baseball cap with a red bill, and a black nylon over his face, a black shirt, blue jeans and dark-colored shoes.
You are asked to call police at 616.530.7300 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345 if you can help solve this crime.
