GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Catherine Wood, convicted of killing five patients at Alpine Manor in Walker beginning in early 1987, is up for parole.
It's the sixth time the convicted killer will have her case reviewed by the parole board since she became eligible in 2005.
Wood pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the cases. She served as a lookout for her lover, Gwendolyn Graham, who smothered the patients. None of the nursing home victims were strong enough to fight back.
Graham was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Wood, who is currently being held in a federal prison in Tallahassee, Florida, will have her parole hearing conducted by the Michigan Department of Corrections.
DOC officials told 24 Hour News 8 there is no reason to believe the board will grant her parole at this time.
A decision could take weeks. 24 Hour News 8 will continue to follow this story.
