LOWELL, Mich. (WOOD) - A man will spend six months in jail for hacking into a library's Internet signal and downloading child pornography to his personal computer.
Alan Waldron was sentenced Monday in Kent County Circuit Court.
Waldron illegally tapped into the Lowell Public Library's Internet access point from his nearby home.
The federal departments of Homeland Security and Immigration Customs Enforcement received a tip and passed the information to the Lowell Police Department.
He was arrested in August and charged with possession of child sexually abusive material, unauthorized use of a computer and using a computer to commit a crime. He pleaded guilty in October.
