US 131 accident sends two to hospital

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (WOOD) - US 131 is down to single-lane traffic this morning between the 76th Street and 84th Street exits after an accident occured around 5:30AM Saturday.
Michigan State Police tell 24 Hour News 8 two vehicles were traveling Northbound on US 131 when a red pickup truck rear-ended a white pickup truck, causing both to spin off the road.
The driver of the red pickup truck fled the scene after the accident. A passenger was also in the red truck and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the white pickup truck was also transported to the hospital, but had minor injuries.
Michigan State Police continue to search for the driver of the red pickup truck.
