GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Light rain was spreading north Wednesday evening and eventually will mix with and change to snow after midnight.
Light accumulations of a half-inch to 2 inches are possible by daybreak Thursday; most of which will be on the grassy surfaces and on cars. Lows will end up in the low- to mid-30s.
Temperatures will not budge much Thursday.
It will be much colder and the wind will be brisk from the WNW off the lake. That is important to know because for the f irst time this season, we are going to see lake effect snow kick in -- in earnest. The heaviest will occur Thursday night into Friday morning. It looks as if the lake effect snow showers will not taper off until Sunday morning.
