OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Three people were injured when a Ford Explorer rolled several times and landed in the front yard of a home, Kent County sheriff's deputies said.
A woman was driving the Explorer on Wabasis Avenue NE, north of 15 Mile Road, early Tuesday afternoon when a Dodge Durango pulled up to the intersection of McCain Drive, deputies said. The woman, apparently believing the Durango was pulling out, swerved and lost control, deputies said.
The Explorer rolled, landed on its roof and ejected a back-seat passenger.
The woman and a man in the front seat were seriously injured, while the man in the back seat suffered less-serious injuries. All were taken by ambulance to a Grand Rapids hospital.
A report on their conditions wasn't immediately available, although deputies said the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
