Psychologist sentenced for sex charges

Former Pine Rest worker gets jail, probation

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The woman suspended from Pine Rest Mental Health Services for criminal sexual conduct was sentenced Thursday to nine months in jail and probation.

Psychologist Brandee Leigh Peikert has earned credit for 51 days served and is eligible for early release after six months.

She will be on probation for five years and must register as a sex offender and perform 300 hours of community service. Peikert also isn't allowed to have any contact with her victim.

The 40-year-old was found guilty March 25 on four counts.

She was charged with two felony charges for fourth-degree CSC against a former client, for using a computer to commit a crime and for interfering with electronic communications.

Peikert assaulted a female patient and harassed her. She worked at Pine Rest for 5 1/2 years.
