GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - An "army of officers" searched for the man who attempted to rob a Chase Bank branch Tuesday afternoon.
The attempted robbery happened at the branch at the intersection of 44th Street and Breton Road near the Grand Rapids-Kentwood line around 3 p.m.
Authorities believe the would-be robber may have a mental illness, the Grand Rapids Police Department said. The note the suspect passed to tellers was "not the normal note you see in bank robberies."
Authorities stopped a bus near 44th Street and Ivanrest Avenue looking for the suspect, but he was not aboard.
Police officers from Grand Rapids, Kentwood and Wyoming were looking for the suspect on Tuesday.
