Woman, 58, killed after rollover crash

ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Michigan State Police tells 24 Hour News 8 that a 58-year-old woman is dead after a car rolled over on Alpine Ave. Sunday afternoon.

Around 1:20 p.m., Kent County Sheriff Deputies and Michigan State Police responded to a rollover accident on Alpine Avenue near Lamoreaux Drive.

The driver of the vehicle, 58-year-old Alice Bronswell Phillips of Rockford, was taken to the hospital and later died.

According to Michigan State Police, the red Cavalier was going northbound on Alpine Avenue when a car, driven by a 19-year-old Grand Rapids woman, pulled out of Chase Bank. The driver of the Cavalier swerved to the right of the car hitting the curb and a power pole support, causing the Cavalier to roll.

Michigan State Police continue to investigate the accident.
