GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 41-year-old woman is in critical condition after police said a pickup truck driver turned into her path as she was riding her mo-ped, causing the two vehicles to collide Wednesday evening.
Police closed westbound Fulton Street near Loch Lomond Avenue NE in Grand Rapids Township as they investigated the crash.
The woman was traveling west on Fulton Street when she was struck by the truck driven by an 18-year-old Grand Rapids man as he was turning north onto Loch Lomond, police said.
Rescue personnel arrived at the scene around 9:50 p.m. and took the Grand Rapids woman to a hospital. She was wearing a helmet.
Police said alcohol and speed are not factors in the wreck.
