WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) - The former business manager at St. John Vianney School and Parish in Wyoming has pleaded not guilty to embezzling $134,545 from the facility.
Jim Kulfan was officially arraigned Thursday on a charge of embezzlement over $100,000. A bond of $10,000 was set, which his family will post.
The judge said Kulfan may not have any contact with the church.
Kulfan will be back in court on March 14 and could spend 20 years in prison if convicted.
Investigators say he stole the money in cash and by writing checks to himself.
Church officials fired Kulfan in December 2011.
