GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The Humane Society of Kent County hosted a low-cost vaccination clinic Sunday afternoon; an event that happens twice each year.
People had the opportunity to have their pets vaccinated for a reduced cost. The Humane Society also has low-income spay-neuter clinics available Feb. 8, Feb. 18, Feb. 22 and March 1.
"We're targeting the low-income pet owners," said Karen Terpstra, the executive director of the Kent County Humane Society. "We don't want to compete with veterinarians and the customers that can afford to pay them. These are people who can't afford to get their vaccinations at a veterenarian."
