GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Many happy tears were shed Friday, as at least a dozen West Michigan families brought home Haitian children after an expedited adoption and a pick-up in Miami.
The Brinks family brought home a new daughter and a son, and said their expanding family is the best thing that could have happened to them.
"Life is so much more than having everything perfect," Marisa Brinks told 24 Hour News 8, "and once you see other areas in the world, your heart goes out to them. And you just realize we're here for a bigger purpose."
24 Hour News 8's Jessica Leffler will have more information later.
