GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - GasBuddy.com is forecasting that gas prices will rise to nearly $4 per gallon by Monday.
Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst, says gas prices in West Michigan will likely hit $3.99 per gallon between Friday and Monday.
That's about 70 cents higher than the West Michigan average from this time in 2012, when gas was about $3.30 per gallon.
Gas currently costs between $3.70 and $3.85 per gallon across West Michigan.
The anticipated increase, DeHaan said, is the result of Midwest refinery problems.
