House burns, fire hydrants far away

Started around 5:30 p.m. Monday

CANNON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Four fire departments responded to a blaze at a home in the 6200 block of Oak Valley on Monday evening.

There are no reported injuries. Owners of the home are on-site but it is not known if they were home at the time of the blaze.

The fire was still burning as of around 8 p.m. There are no nearby fire hydrants and the various departments had trouble delivering water to the fire.

There was a hose line stretched about a quarter-mile long.
