Couple charged with Bridge Card fraud

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A husband and wife face felony charges for allegedly running a Bridge Card scheme out of their business.

The investigation centers around Dudley's Party Store on Plainfield Avenue.

The Kent County Sheriff's Department says owner Dudley Larson, 51, and his wife Julie, 48, were accepting Bridge Cards in exchange for merchandise of a lower value than the cards.  

Additionally, the sheriff's department said, the store isn't authorized to accept Bridge Cards.

Investigators say the Larsons then used the Bridge Cards at authorized stores to buy things.

Investigators served a search at for Dudley's Party Store Monday and arrested the couple. They were each charged Tuesday with food stamp fraud over $1,000, a 10-year felony.
