GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Three members of the Cornerstone University cross-country team were briefly hospitalized following a crash on the way to a team event.
Fifteen women's cross-country athletes and a coach were traveling to a pre-season team-building event Sunday, according to a university spokesman.
On the way to the event, a number of girls in a van were followed by a number of girls in a car. Around 5 p.m., the car, which was driven by a student, rear-ended the van.
The series of events leading up to the crash are unknown.
The crash happened near Reed City, but no one from the university could confirm that Sunday night, according to a ReportIt email.
Three students were taken to a hospital for observation, but all were released by Sunday evening, and the students resumed the trip.
