COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman driving her car wasn't able to stop the vehicle and it crashed into a 7-11 store Saturday.
Kent County dispatchers and an eyewitness tell 24 Hour News 8 the accident happened around 12:15 PM. The driver wasn't able to stop her vehicle and it crashed into the side of the business.
Comstock Park resident Ben Messick was in the store at the time of the accident while his wife was waiting in their vehicle on another side of the store.
"It was a loud bang! I thought someone had dropped something. My wife says the building shook." eyewitness Ben Messick told 24 Hour News 8.
Messick says he ran over to the accident and saw the driver getting out of the vehicle. He says the driver stated that she couldn't get her brakes to work.
Employees say that a cooler was damaged by the crash, as well as an exterior wall. Minor injures were reported, but it is unknown if anyone was transported to the hospital.
