WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) - Authorities blocked off Berkley Avenue between Lee and Engle streets in Wyoming for some time after a shooting.

Wyoming police initially responded to the 1300 block of Chicago Drive to a complaint of shots fired around 3:30 pm. Wednesday.

Police said victims told them shots were fired into their car while it was parked behind a Burton Street business. The people in the car were not hurt.

While officers were speaking with victims, the suspect's vehicle drove past the victims' residence, according to Wyoming police.

The victims pointed the vehicle out to police, who stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Chicago Drive and Clyde Park Avenue.

One person was taken into custody for questioning at that time.

Further investigation led police to obtain a search warrant for the suspect's Berkley Avenue residence, at which point they shut down a portion of the street.

The home was empty when police entered.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wyoming Police Department at 616.530.7300 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
