KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) - Kentwood police Friday morning tracked down and arrested a man who they say robbed a 7-Eleven store a short time earlier.
Sources confirmed to 24 Hour News 8 that the suspect, Corey Lamont Roberts, is the same person accused in two other robberies. He used a knife during each heist.
The suspect, who had a knife, stole cash from the clerk at the business at 4429 Breton Road SE, then fled the scene around 6 a.m., police said in a news release.
Officers arrived and searched the area around the business, and noticed someone who matched the suspect's description.
Evidence from the crime was also located.
Police confirmed to 24 Hour News 8 they believe Roberts is the same man who robbed the Marathon gas station at 2560 E. Beltline Ave. SE in Grand Rapids on Jan. 17, and the Shell gas station at 2600 E. Beltline Ave. SE in Grand Rapids on Dec. 17, 2012.
Roberts, 42, was taken into custody and arraigned Friday afternoon on an armed robbery charge. He will also likely face additional armed robbery charges in Grand Rapids.
