GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Six men were indicted on Tuesday in connection to the Friday bust of six tons of pot in Wyoming.
The men were indicted in federal court on charges of possession and conspiracy to distribute 1,000 kilograms or more of marijuana.
Four of the men indicted were arrested at the scene on Friday: Anthony Castro Gonzales, Tony Frank Disla-Santiago, Flavio Ramos, and Angel Luis DeLeon-DeJesus.
Two additional men allegedly involved in the distribution of the marijuana were also indicted on Tuesday: Adrian Nunez-Gonzalez and Alex Parra.
The seizure was the largest marijuana bust ever in Kent County -- 500 bales of marijuana weighing about 20 pounds each and valuing about $12 million on the street.
DEA agents told 24 Hour News 8 on Monday that the bust may be indicative of a larger problem: that West Michigan may be becoming a hub for the distribution of illegal drugs.
