GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Two teenagers have been charged after police found them with several stolen items in their car.

The property was recovered after three people were found sitting in a parked vehicle in Huff Park with marijuana and alcohol on August 6, according to the sheriff's department.

Deputies who made contact with the three men found electronics, a check book and bank debit card belonging to a woman inside their vehicle. Investigation revealed that the items appeared to be stolen.

One of the teens in the car already had an outstanding arrest warrant.

Thomas Lyons, 18, was charged with a felony of stealing and retaining without consent and a misdemeanor for stolen property of $200 or more, but less than $1,000.

Thomas Lipinski, 18, was also charged with a misdemeanor for stolen property totaling $200 or more, but less than $1,000.

Both men were charged on August 7 in the 6st District Court.

The third 18-year-old man was issued a ticket for using marijuana and was released. His name is not being released pending his arraignment.

Authorities are looking for the owners of the stolen property. Anyone whose vehicle was broken into between Aug. 5 and Aug. 6 is asked to contact the Kent County Sheriff's Department at 616.632.6125.
