GRAND RAPIDS,Mich. (WOOD) - Undocumented workers. Unscrupulous tax preparers. And a loophole that costs US taxpayers $4 billion each year.

Target 8 investigator Ken Kolker talked with undocumented workers in West Michigan who supplied a fake name and fake Social Security number to a Grand Rapids tax preparer.

Their returns include the names of children they don't have - so they get larger child tax credits.

"Fake kids, False claims," a Target 8 investigation Monday on 24 Hour News 8 at 11.
