GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Two more of the men indicted in a 6-ton marijuana bust have pleaded guilty to the federal charges against them.
Patrick O'Meara pleaded guilty this week to conspiracy to deliver marijuana, according to federal court records, Samuel Granillo-Herrera pleaded guilty to two counts of using a telephone to facilitate distribution of marijuana.
Granillo-Herrero was released on bond, but O'Meara remains incarcerated.
Nine men total were indicted on federal charges after an October 2011 marijuana bust in Wyoming. Authorities found 494 bales of pot weighing in at 12,350 pounds in a warehouse. The police-estimated street value of the confiscated marijuana was $12 million.
Four of the nine people indicted -- Anthony Castro Gonzales, Angel Luis DeLeon-DeJesus, Tony Frank Disla-Santiago and Flavio Ramos -- pleaded guilty to the charges they faced in May.
Also indicted were Adrian Nunez-Gonzalez, Alex Parra and Angel Eduardo Santos-Rodriguez.
Authorities have said that recent spikes in drug activity may indicate that Michigan is becoming a drug trafficking hub.
