A 22-year-old Plainwell man was seriously injured after his vehicle collided with a semi-truck when police say he drove the wrong way on a highway.

Police received several calls at around 1:15 a.m. Friday from drivers who said they saw a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 131 near D Avenue in Alamo Township.

When sheriff's deputies arrived, they saw the result of the head-on collision involving the car and truck.

The driver of the car, Zebulan David Brown, was taken to a hospital.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
