KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - School was canceled Monday for a Kalamazoo school after a nearby water main broke Saturday morning.
The pipe burst just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of Kilgore Road and Lovers Lane.
Officials told 24 Hour News 8 they believe the cold weather caused the break. Crews at the scene said fixing the main break was an all-day job.
The break and subsequent decrease in water pressure prompted a boil water advisory at Loy Norrix High School and the office complex on Trestlebridge Drive, according to a news release from the City.
The advisory was lifted around 1:45 p.m. Monday.
Affected citizens in the area can now use the City's water.
Anyone with questions about the advisory may call 269.373.5337 or visit the City website.
