'Unkempt' burglars target Pennfield Twp

PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department needs the public’s help in solving a case of residential burglaries.

The crimes occurred Jan. 18 possibly between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the Pennfield Township area, according to a news release.

Two or three men approach residences and enter through unlocked doors, according to a news release, and steal jewelry, money and smaller items.

Sometimes the suspects are confronted by homeowners and claim to be affiliated with local church programs or ask for directions.

The suspects are described as being unkempt, white males between the ages of 20 and 40, one of whom is missing all of his front teeth, police said.
