BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) - A well-known air demonstration squadron will perform in Battle Creek next year.

"We are absolutely thrilled and proud to have the US Air Force Thunderbirds as our headline demonstration for the 2013 Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show," stated Barbara Haluszka, executive director of the event.

The Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival will be July 3-7, 2013.

"It truly says a great deal for our community, sponsors and volunteers when you are able to secure a Demonstration Team," added Rick Fleming, Battle Creek Field of Flight Board president, in a news release.

"All the support that we receive from the Air National Guard, the City of Battle Creek, the City of Springfield, businesses, and of course the outstanding volunteers, is why we are considered one of the top air shows in the country," stated Haluszka.

Organizers are now preparing to release the first Tentative Schedule of Events, which will hit the event's website in early January 2013.

"Our Publicity Team has been very busy communicating with our Facebook fans, which has generated a great deal of excitement," said Haluszka, "and I'm really anxious to get our first Tentative Schedule out."
