PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) - A tip helped police arrest a man suspected of shooting two people at an Oshtemo Township apartment complex.
Marcus Robinson, 24, was taken into custody at Milham Meadows Apartments, 6103 Mallard Circle in Portage, detectives told 24 Hour News 8.
The Portage Police Department received the tip about 3 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release. Officers worked with the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department and Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety to take Robinson into custody about 5 a.m. on an outstanding warrant for contempt of court.
Authorities will ask the prosecutor's office to present homicide charges against Robinson in connection with the double shooting. Brian Eshun Tolson, 19, died from a gunshot wound to the chest, and Jerrad C. Boothe, 24, was critically wounded.
The two victims were shot Sunday after a fight at Village Square Apartments at 2890 S. Ninth St., police said -- a situation that escalated following an argument a day earlier.
