GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 26-year-old man from Kalamazoo was charged Tuesday under the " Super Drunk Law" after hitting eight cars inside a parking ramp and defecating on one of the vehicles.
Lance Joseph Laponsie had a blood alcohol level over .20 and caused about $75,000 worth of damage to the cars he hit in the Radisson Plaza Hotel and Suites ramp located on 100 N. Rose St.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Assistant Chief Brian Uridge told 24 Hour News 8 that Laponsie drank 20 beers and told officers he was depressed and wanted to commit suicide.
Laponsie was charged with two counts in Kalamazoo County including operating with a high blood alcohol content (known as the "Super Drunk Law") and operating while intoxicated.
Laponsie is currently in the hospital, so the judge set a review date of March 1.
