TEXAS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A small plane was forced to make an emergency landing near Kalamazoo Sunday night.

Authorities on the scene said it was an experimental plane and that it was only in the air for a few seconds before the landing.

The plane landed into some Christmas trees in the 5700 block of West R Avenue in Texas Township.

The pilot lives nearby.

No one was hurt, but the plane sustained some damage.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
