Shots fired at car, teen hit in face

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - A 17-year-old male was riding in a vehicle when shots were fired by people in a Dodge Durango, hitting him in the face.

It happened about 3:40 a.m. on New Year's Day in the 1200 Block of Wells Place in Kalamazoo.

The teenager arrived at Bronson Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face.

The victim told officers the white Dodge Durango had been following them for several blocks before firing the shots.

The Kalamazoo Public Safety Department said in a news release the victim had non-life threatening injuries and the suspects are unknown.
