KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - A teenager is in the Kalamazoo County Jail accused of shooting another teen.
Friends of the victim flagged down a Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officer at 8:38 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Mabel Street.
The victim, a 17-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was suffering from two non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
He told police he was shot about half an hour earlier in the 1200 block of N. Church Street.
An ambulance crew transported the teen to Bronson Methodist Hospital.
During the investigation, an 18-year-old Kalamazoo resident was identified as the suspect.
Less than two hours later, officers arrested the suspect without incident. The weapon was not recovered, police said in a statement.
