GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Matt Johnson, the Portage businessman whose body was found June 8 on Mt. Fuji, reached the summit of Japan's tallest mountain before he likely fell to his death in January.
In a Facebook posting , Johnson's sister wrote the family was able to recover his camera. Among the pictures is the picture accompanying this story, a picture he took of himself at the summit of the 12,388 foot high mountain .
"Included in the pictures were photos of Matt AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN! Matt accomplished his goal before meeting Jesus. What a blessing to our family!" she wrote.
Johnson, 33, was in Japan on a business trip when he went missing Jan. 13. His body was found after the winter's snow depth melted.
