Police car escapee recaptured
Suspect was handcuffed at the time of escape

PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) - A suspect has been recaptured days after escaping while handcuffed and seated in the back of a patrol vehicle.
Portage Department of Public Safety officers arrested Brandon Brock, 31, without incident on Thursday.
He was originally arrested Monday after allegedly fighting in the parking lot of the Portage Main Street Pub, 7500 block of S. Westnedge Ave. Officers arrived, took Brock into custody and put him in one of their vehicles.
An officer walked away from the vehicle to interview the victim from the fight, and that is when Brock was able to escape from the vehicle.
Brock now faces the original misdemeanor assault charge, and an additional felony charge of escaping police custody. He will also face a charge of larceny of police property for taking the handcuffs he was wearing during the escape.
