PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) - A parole absconder faces even more charges following a 30-mile chase with police in Kalamazoo County.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office at 1:55 a.m. Monday investigated a report of the suspect being spotted near Pavilion Drive and N Avenue in Pavilion Township.

Deputies then saw the suspect driving a vehicle leaving a mobile home park in the area.

Deputies tried to stop the vehicle but the suspect continued to drive east into Portage and then Kalamazoo, according to a news release.

The pursuit continued at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour at times, police said.

Portage Department of Public Safety officers used spike strips to stop the suspect's vehicle near Sprinkle Road and Zylman Avenue.

The suspect was taken into custody on a parole violation, and numerous other felony charges.

Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers assisted in the incident.
