KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - A man got away with cash after robbing a parking structure at gunpoint early Sunday morning.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. at Central City Parking in the 300 block of North Rose Street in Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to the parking structure, where an employee told them he had just been robbed.
A man with a blue bandana over his face and a black semi-automatic handgun approached the employee, he told officers, and demanded money. The employee gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect then fled on foot.
Police mobilized a K9 Team and were able to track the suspect to the area of West Kalamazoo Avenue and North Park Street, but they could not find him.
The suspect is described as a black male between 6 feet and 6-foot-2 with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hat, a black long-sleeve shirt and black pants.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact KDPS at 269.337.8994 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
