PARCHMENT, Mich. (WOOD) - The Parchment schools administrator accused of driving 'super drunk' has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.

John Thompson, the district athletic director and middle school assistant principal, was originally placed on paid administrative leave after charges were filed against him.

But Parchment Public Schools released a statement Thursday saying that Thompson is no longer on paid leave.

When he was arrested on the night of April 4, Thompson led police on a high-speed chase through Richland that at times topped speeds of 125 mph, according to a police report.

Thompson's BAC on the night of his arrest was .25 -- more than three times the legal limit of .08.

Thompson now faces charges of fleeing and eluding police in the fourth degree, a felony punishable by up to 2 years in prison; operating while intoxicated with a high blood alcohol content -- the 'super drunk' law -- operating while intoxicated, and having an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle.

Thompson is expected to be back in court for a preliminary exam on May 8.
