COOPER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 22-year-old man from Allendale is in the Kalamazoo County Jail, accused of burglarizing a home.
Deputies responded at 1:55 p.m. Feb. 15 to Pinto Road near Rollridge Avenue in Cooper Township where a neighbor reported a strange situation occurring in his neighborhood.
"The caller thought something was wrong and that his neighbor's house may have been broken into," according to news release from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department.
The caller stayed on the phone with dispatchers and gave a suspect description and the location of the subject, which helped Deputy Sheriff Mark Scott locate and apprehend the suspect several streets away.
The investigation revealed the house in question was burglarized, and police later recovered the stolen property from the residence.
The victims were not home at the time of the crime.
Anyone with more information about this incident is asked to call the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office at 269.383.8748 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
