PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) - A 34-year-old Portage man has been arrested for operating and maintaining a methamphetamine lab.

After authorities received a tip that methamphetamine production and sales were occurring at the residence in the 4200 block of Cedarcrest Avenue in Portage, they obtained a search warrant.

Officers from the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, along with assistance from the Portage Police Department , executed the search warrant Friday.

During the search they found methamphetamine with a street value of $500, scales, evidence of a methamphetamine lab, and Psilocybin mushrooms.

The suspect is currently being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail.

Police said more people could be charged at a later date.
