Man fatally stabbed at Iron Coffin Club

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) - One man was stabbed to death at a motorcycle club in Battle Creek, and another man - who was found with a stab wound to his neck - is now behind bars and facing a murder charge.

Just before 6 a.m. on New Year's Day, Battle Creek officers went to the Iron Coffin Club on Gilbert Street because of a call about a stabbing. When they arrived, they found Leroy Taylor dead on the floor.

The other man, Matthew Starkweather, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his stab wounds, and later arrested for Taylor's murder.

Investigators continue to look into the case.
